The position will be based in Manchester For further information about this position please apply.\n\nOne of our clients are looking for an experienced Planner to assist them working on a nuclear decommissioning project. \n\n6-month contract\nOutside IR35\nHybrid - 3 days in Manchester officeAs a Planning Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and managing project programmes, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring accurate updates and reporting.

Initially, you will work with the QS team to cost-load the existing programme of works. Once accepted, you will manage subcontractor plans and integrate updates into the overall programme.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDevelop breakdown structures, quality criteria, and monitoring strategies.\nValidate project assumptions to ensure realistic and achievable plans.\nInterface with project controls to align financials with the project plan.\nSupport optimisation of delivery through resource smoothing and rescheduling.\nIdentify resource requirements for project delivery.\nEnsure stakeholder requirements are reflected in reporting.\nProvide planning advice and promote best practices throughout the project lifecycle.Essential Skills & Experience\n\nProficient in Primavera P6.\nExperience in cost and resource-loaded plans.\nUnderstanding of Earned Value Analysis.\nStrong analytical and numeracy skills.\nExcellent MS Office proficiency.\nProactive approach to identifying savings and mitigations.Desirable:\n\nFamiliarity with estimating, scheduling, and risk tools.\nExperience in project controls within regulated environments.Qualifications\n\nEssential: GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths.\nDesirable: HNC/HND or degree in a planning-related discipline; APMG Project Planning and Control Practitioner; PMI-SP certification. \n\nPlease click to find out more about our Key Information Documents.
