Senior Project Manager FTC Location: Holborn, London EC1 – HybridContract: 12‑month fixed‑term contract, possibly permanent in 2026Salary: Negotiable + Car Allowance and Flexible Benefits fund worth £1,475. Penspen is seeking a dynamic and motivated Project Manager to be based from our London office. The role involves delivering onshore oil & gas processing and pipeline engineering projects in a consultancy or design‑house environment. Key Responsibilities
Identify and communicate project objectives to the team, aligning with contract terms, scope of work and company policies. Initiate projects in line with corporate project management guidelines and produce a Project Execution Plan. Serve as the primary point of contact with clients for all commercial and contractual matters. Develop and maintain productive relationships and manage key stakeholder expectations. Control project performance, including expenditure, revenue forecasts and cash‑flow targets throughout the schedule. Define resource requirements in liaison with the Engineering Manager and balance workload through scheduling and issue resolution. Monitor scope progress, report to stakeholders and raise risks or issues. Ensure technical consistency and quality across the project. Assess variances against scope, plans, budgets and schedules, and implement changes to meet objectives. Lead engineering proposal development, including execution plans, subcontractor requirements and project schedules. Oversee Health, Safety, Environmental and Security requirements across all projects. Ensure work adheres to the Company Quality Policy. Identify potential areas for improvement in current methodologies.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Chartered status or professional registration with PMP / APMP desirable. Extensive experience delivering engineering projects on time and on budget in the oil, gas and energy transition industry. Experience across all project phases and in developing and winning proposals. High‑level computer literacy with MS Office. Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem‑solving skills. Commercial awareness and negotiation skills. Experience in the process technology areas of refining, carbon capture, hydrogen, green ammonia (fast‑track).
