Senior Python Engineer - Backend

Salary: £65,000 – £80,000 + 10% bonus

Hybrid: 2 days per week in the office (Holborn, London)

We're looking for a Senior Python backend Engineer to help build highly scalable, reliable, and well-designed backend services that power exceptional digital experiences. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-moving product environment where engineering, creativity, and collaboration drive everything we do.

The Role

You’ll play a key part in developing backend services that support complex data processing, microservices, and customer-facing features. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Design, and commercial teams, continuously improving our systems, processes, and ways of working.

What You’ll Do

• Build scalable and maintainable backend services.
• Use the right tools for the job and recommend new frameworks, techniques, or technologies.
• Work closely with Product, Design, and Sales teams to deliver impactful features.
• Contribute through code reviews, design sessions, pair programming, and technical discussions.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering workflow and Agile practices.

What You’ll Need

• Strong experience building backend systems in Python (any framework).
• Solid understanding of databases, OO design, data structures, and SOLID principles.
• Problem-solving mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across teams.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to work closely with both engineers and business stakeholders.
