Job Description

We're supporting a leading specialist civil engineering and reinforced concrete contractor with the appointment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team. The business delivers complex RC frame, groundworks and structural packages across high-profile projects across the west midlands.\n \n This role offers the opportunity to take commercial ownership of major packages on technically demanding schemes, working within a well-structured and experienced commercial function.\n\nThe Role\n\nReporting into a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the full commercial lifecycle of your project(s), from procurement through to final account.\n \n Key duties include:\n\nManaging subcontract procurement and package buy-out\n \nAdministering contracts (NEC predominantly, JCT where applicable)\n \nValuations, variations, change control and cost reporting\n \nProducing and managing CVRs and forecasts\n \nLeading subcontractor negotiations and final accounts\n \nLiaising closely with operational teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved\n You will have responsibility for significant project values and will play a key role in protecting margin and managing risk.\n\nAbout You\n\nProven experience as a Senior QS or strong Project QS ready to step up\n \nBackground in civil engineering, groundworks or RC frame environments\n \nStrong working knowledge of NEC contracts\n \nCommercially astute with strong analytical and negotiation skills\n \nComfortable managing projects with minimal supervision\n \nDegree qualified (Quantity Surveying or equivalent) \n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nExposure to major infrastructure and structural schemes\n \nA stable, growing contractor with a strong secured pipeline\n \nClear progression opportunities into Commercial Manager level\n \nCompetitive salary and package\n If you're an experienced Senior QS looking to work on complex, high-value civil engineering projects within a structured commercial environment, feel free to reach out for a confidential discussion.\n\nAldwych Consulting values and promotes equality.
