Senior Quantity Surveyor - Client side Opportunity

Up to £85,000

Are you a consultancy-trained Quantity Surveyor looking to move client-side into a developer environment where you can influence early decisions and shape the commercial direction of new residential schemes? This role is ideal for someone with strong pre‑construction experience in the living sectors (residential, BTR, co‑living, student accommodation or similar) who wants to step away from consultancy and into a strategic developer-side position.

The Role

As a Senior QS, you will be central to early-stage project success, with a strong emphasis on cost planning and commercial rigour. You will:

Lead early-stage cost planning, feasibility and commercial analysis Support Gateway approvals and internal investment decisions Deliver detailed cost plans and benchmarking for upcoming residential schemes Support PCSA processes with accurate commercial insight Conduct market testing and work with the supply chain to validate pricing Present commercial recommendations to senior stakeholders Work autonomously with the option to mentor junior team members when needed

About You

Strong cost consultancy background (contractor experience not required) Experience in residential or living-sector schemes Skilled in early-stage work: feasibility, cost planning, benchmarking Commercially astute, organised and confident communicating with stakeholders MRICS qualified or working towards it () Ambitious, proactive and ready to transition into a client-side developer environment
