Role Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading organisation delivering complex infrastructure and construction projects.

You will take a key commercial lead across projects, ensuring effective cost control, contract administration, and risk management, with a particular focus on NEC contracts (Option E) and cost-reimbursable frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the commercial management of projects from tender stage through to final account
Administer NEC contracts (Option E), ensuring compliance and best practice
Manage compensation events, variations, and change control processes
Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuations and final accounts
Monitor and forecast project costs, budgets, and cash flow
Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
Provide strategic commercial input to project delivery teams
Build and maintain strong client, subcontractor, and stakeholder relationships
Support and mentor Assistant and Intermediate Quantity Surveyors
Ensure accurate reporting and adherence to company governance procedures
Candidate Requirements

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure or major construction
Strong knowledge and practical experience of NEC contracts (especially Option E)
Experience working on cost-reimbursable or target cost contracts
Excellent commercial awareness and financial management skills
Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities
Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent)
Membership of a professional body (e.g. RICS) is advantageous
