A leading specialist civil engineering subcontractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team delivering HS2 projects in London. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure programmes, with a company renowned for technical excellence and collaborative delivery. Due to further recent HS2 project wins, they're looking to strengthefn their commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all commercial aspects of civil engineering subcontract works, including cost planning, contract administration, and valuation of works.
* Prepare accurate interim valuations, final accounts, and financial reports for internal and client review.
* Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier contracts, ensuring risk is appropriately managed.
* Support project managers in identifying and mitigating commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
* Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow, providing proactive recommendations to optimise financial performance.
* Maintain detailed records of project correspondence, variations, and claims.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Senior QS in civil engineering, ideally within rail infrastructure or major public projects.
* Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and commercial management processes.
* Excellent financial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex cost data and advise management effectively.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills, capable of managing stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to work under pressure on high-profile projects with tight deadlines.
