Role Mission As a Technical Product Manager for the Ledger Service team, you will own the strategy and development of Kraken’s ledger infrastructure. This is the system that records every financial event, ensures balance correctness and provides an immutable, auditable source of truth across all regions and markets. Your mission is to build and scale a robust, transparent and highly reliable bookkeeping platform that guarantees data integrity, supports regulatory compliance, and enables Kraken to operate and expand globally. What You’ll Do Product Strategy & Vision
Own and refine the long‑term product vision for Kraken’s core ledger system Translate regulatory requirements, internal operational needs and system constraints into a clear, scalable product roadmap
Product Development & Delivery
Together with the engineering team you own the development of the core ledger system, ensuring that it meets requirements that support users’ needs Ensure ledgers are designed for scalability, reliability and global use across markets and clients
Stakeholder Alignment & Enablement
The ledger systems you will own are primarily used by internal teams, who build client‑facing functionality on top This role is about enabling other teams through reliable, scalable financial infrastructure Translate complex financial and operational requirements into clear technical specifications and scalable system designs
Key Success Metrics & Outcomes Regulatory Compliance
The Ledger framework meets regulatory requirements (e.g. SOX), with complete, immutable audit trails and clear logging of all financial events Consistent, reliable financial records that support internal and external reporting
Scalability & Performance
Efficient data models and storage that ensure fast querying, reconciliation, and reporting Systems are designed to scale with Kraken’s growth without introducing data bottlenecks or operational constraints while maintaining correctness and consistency Ledger systems need to be designed in a standardised (core) way enabling fast and reliable client migration
Financial Reporting & Integration
Financial data is accurately and consistently reported to downstream systems (e.g. ERP) Standardised data structures that enable reliable, repeatable integrations across markets
What You’ll Need
4+ years of experience in product management within a tech or SaaS environment Strong understanding of product management methodologies, agile development and user‑centric design Experience with financial systems (bookkeeping, accounting) and managing complex operational processes where data integrity is beneficial Strong technical background is expected. You should be comfortable understanding and communicating trade‑offs around:
Data models and database design APIs and service architectures Data consistency
Experience working on internal platforms or infrastructure products, with exposure to financial systems, ledger architectures or event‑driven systems is desirable Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications for engineering teams Fluent in English is required The ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast‑paced environment and a curious mindset focused on continuous improvement and learning Knowledge of the energy market or additional languages is a plus
