Job Description
Our client is a major housebuilder with an enviable reputation for quality – in build and people.\n\nAs you’d expect, the normal duties are as below however, they value collaboration, team work and have a strong stance on the wellbeing of their employees. You’ll definitely have a voice.\n\nReporting to the Contracts Manager, The Site Manager will take full responsibility for managing the construction of a residential development, including all associated pre- and post-housebuilding works. You will ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme, to the highest quality standards, and within budget, while maintaining excellent customer care throughout.\n\nThe position\n\n * Ensuring full compliance on site at all times with company health and safety policies, NHBC standards, Building Regulations and quality standards.\n\n * Planning, coordinating and managing labour, trades and resources to achieve build programme targets and maximise efficiency.\n\n * Managing materials on site to maintain optimal stock levels while supporting the construction programme.\n\n * Delivering all plots to the highest quality standards in line with NHBC requirements, specifications and best practice.\n\n * Undertaking company quality control inspections at the correct stages, proactively identifying and rectifying defects to avoid delays or additional costs.\n\n * Coordinating and attending inspections with Local Authority Building Control and NHBC, taking corrective action to minimise re-inspections.\n\n * Maintaining a high standard of site presentation at all times.\n\n * Conducting New Home Tours with customers and Sales Advisors, addressing queries and resolving issues ahead of legal completion.\n\n * Supporting, motivating and directing the on-site construction team, ensuring they are fully resourced, clearly briefed and supported through effective communication, training and workload planning.\n\n * Leading by example in health and safety, professionalism, organisation, quality and conduct.\n\nThe person\n\n * Extensive experience working to an established build programme and managing competing priorities.\n\n * A proven ability to deliver weekly targets through effective organisation of labour and strong teamwork.\n\n * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain requirements and gain full compliance.\n\n * Strong leadership and assertiveness to drive quality and performance on site.\n\n * The ability to prioritise and adapt to changing business needs, with a practical and solutions-focused approach.\n\n * Membership of the Chartered Institute of Building and/or an NVQ Level 5 qualification in Construction Management, or be a time-served tradesperson with broad construction experience.\n\n * In-depth knowledge of residential construction, including health and safety legislation, NHBC standards and Building Regulations.\n\n * A strong customer-focused approach, with experience dealing with customers, resolving issues and explaining procedures clearly and professionally.\n\nOur client believes in recruiting the very best people, developing their skills and rewarding them well.\n\nIf you’d like to find out more, please call Gregg Swan, directly, on (phone number removed) to find out more.\n\nJames Gray Recruitment is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
