Company Overview
We are working with a well-established renewable energy company specialising in the delivery of utility-scale solar PV projects across the UK. With a strong pipeline of upcoming projects and a growing reputation for quality and safety, they are now seeking an experienced Site Manager to take ownership of a large-scale solar farm project based in Stevenage.
Role Overview
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the successful on-site delivery of a large-scale ground-mount solar PV installation. This includes overseeing civil and electrical works, managing subcontractors, ensuring site safety and quality, and reporting on progress. You’ll play a key role in keeping the project on track and supporting a smooth commissioning and handover process.
This is a hands-on position that requires a proactive attitude, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills. The role will involve working extended hours during peak periods. Once this project is completed, relocation to another site will be required, with full support provided.
Key Responsibilities

Manage daily on-site activities and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Coordinate subcontractors, site workers, and suppliers
*
Monitor progress and report updates or delays to project and construction managers
*
Maintain accurate site records and project documentation
*
Ensure build quality meets company and industry standards
*
Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
*
Support testing, commissioning, and final handover of the project
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Site Manager on utility-scale solar PV or renewable energy projects
*
Strong knowledge of both civil and electrical construction processes
*
SMSTS and First Aid qualifications (mandatory)
*
Full UK driving licence
*
Confident leader with excellent organisational and communication skills
*
Willingness to work extended hours and weekends if needed
*
Willing to relocate for future projects after the current build concludes
