Software Engineer (FTC 12 Months)
Salary: £57,000 £60,000
Location: Havant, Hampshire
Working Pattern: Hybrid (1 day a month unless busy and more presence required)
Hours: 40 hours per week
The Role Were looking for an experienced Software Engineer to support and enhance a suite of applications used by internal teams and UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) customers. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys owning development work end to end, improving existing systems, and delivering secure, high-quality software in a regulated environment.
What Youll Be Doing

• Own the full software development lifecycle design to deployment and support
  
• Build and maintain modern front-end interfaces
  
• Develop robust back-end systems, APIs, and databases
  
• Work closely with stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  
• Ensure software meets security, performance, and compliance standards
  
• Explore and integrate new technologies, including AI and automation
  

• Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  
• Strong full-stack development experience
  
• C#, .NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  
• Experience with SQL-based databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
  
• Familiar with version control, testing, and development best practice
  
• Eligible for UK Security Clearance (or willing to obtain)
  

• Defence, aerospace, or government project experience
  
• DevSecOps, Docker, or cloud deployment exposure
  
• Knowledge of AI / data integration
  
• Agile delivery experience (Jira, Confluence, Git)
