Job Description

Role: Lead Policy Admin Architect (Contract)

Rate: £800 per day Inside IR35

Focus: PAS Modernisation, Standardisation, & Rapid Deployment

The Mission

Our client is a leader in insurance and asset management, going through a large transformation.

They are looking for a Policy Admin Architect who has experiences in Policy Administration Systems, and can rince and repeat this at scale. You aren't here to reinvent the wheel for every product launch; you are here to build the industrial-scale wheel factory. Your goal is to design a modular, "hands-on" architecture that allows us to onboard new schemes, products, and territories with high velocity and zero technical debt.

Key Responsibilities

  • Blueprint Standardization: Design and own the "Gold Standard" template for policy lifecycles—from quote/bind to mid-term adjustments (MTA) and renewals.
  • Hands-on Engineering: This isn't a "ivory tower" role. You will be in the weeds, configuring data models, mapping APIs, and ensuring the core engine is robust.
  • Integration Orchestration: Ensure the PAS talks seamlessly to downstream ledgers, claims modules, and third-party data enrichment providers via a clean, event-driven architecture.
  • The "Rinse & Repeat" Framework: Create the documentation and automated tooling that allows the business to "clone and tweak" existing products for rapid market entry.
  • Vendor Management: Hold PAS vendors accountable to the architectural roadmap, ensuring their roadmap aligns with our need for speed.

Technical Profile

  • Platform Mastery: Deep experience in Tier 1 or Tier 2 PAS platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek, Socotra, or bespoke cloud-native engines).
  • Cloud Architecture: Expert-level knowledge of AWS/Azure/GCP environments and how they host high-availability insurance core systems.
  • API-First Mindset: Strong grasp of RESTful services and JSON/XML schema definition for insurance-specific messaging (ACORD standards).
  • DevOps DNA: Experience with CI/CD pipelines to ensure "rinse and repeat" deployments are automated and low-risk.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to work with like-minded professionals and like being very hands-on.
