VIQU have partnered with a well-established financial services organisation undergoing a major cloud transformation, currently moving their SQL Server estate into Azure. This is a brand-new role, giving you the opportunity to take real ownership as the dedicated DBA leading this migration journey.
This position is ideal for a mid-level DBA who enjoys hands-on technical work and wants to play a key role in shaping a modern, cloud-first database environment.
The Role You’ll be responsible for managing a sizeable estate of ~60 production databases, ensuring performance, stability, and optimisation across the platform. A major focus will be working closely with development teams to refactor queries, improve performance, and support best practices across SQL and Azure.
You’ll also play a key role in the ongoing migration to Azure, gaining exposure to cloud technologies while driving improvements in database performance and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
SQL Server administration across production and non-production environments
Performance tuning, optimisation, and query refactoring
Writing efficient T-SQL and analysing execution plans
Supporting and collaborating with developers to improve database performance
