Carmichael UK is working with a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering a major highways project in Gloucestershire. We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent with strong FRC (fibre reinforced concrete) knowledge who can take ownership of works and drive delivery on site.

The Role

As Sub Agent, you will support the Site Agent in the day-to-day management of site activities, with a particular focus on concrete and structural elements of the scheme. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can take responsibility, coordinate teams, and keep works progressing safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Site Agent in the delivery of highways and structural works

Take ownership of FRC-related activities, ensuring works are delivered in line with specifications

Drive day-to-day site operations, coordinating engineers, subcontractors, and supervisors

Ensure works are delivered safely, to programme, and to the required quality standards

Assist with planning, short-term programmes, and method statements

Maintain high standards of health & safety, quality, and environmental compliance

Liaise with the wider project team to resolve technical and delivery issues

About You

Proven experience working as a Sub Agent on highways or major infrastructure projects

Strong knowledge and experience of FRC (fibre reinforced concrete) – essential

Confident leading site teams and driving works forward

Background working for a Tier 1 main contractor

Good understanding of highways and structural construction processes

SMSTS and CSCS (essential)

Proactive, organised, and solutions-focused approach
