Role: Transport Planner Location: Portsmouth Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum

The Role

Plan and schedule HGV routes across the UK to ensure maximum vehicle efficiency.

Liaise with drivers, customers, and internal teams to maintain smooth operations.

React quickly to changing situations - breakdowns, delays, and last-minute bookings.

Use of sub-contractors on haulage exchange Maintain accurate records of routes, timings, and load allocations.

About You

Proven experience planning HGV vehicles within a UK haulage company.

Strong understanding of driver hours, WTD, and general transport regulations.

Good geographical knowledge A natural problem solver who can balance cost, service, and compliance.

Experience with TMS.
