Job Description
Scale a Profitable Embedded Finance Platform. Real AI in Production. Clear Path to CTO.numi is exclusively retained to find a VP of Engineering for a top-tier B2B fintech. Profitable. Fast-growing. $100M+ annualised revenue. Backed by Tier-1 global banks and growth equity.The company has just completed a replatforming — moving from a legacy stack to a distributed, API-first Capital Platform. Now it’s entering the next phase: moving from good infrastructure to great execution — and unlocking 10x growth in the process.
This role is the scale-up phase. The roadmap is aggressive.
Reporting to a product-led CPTO, you will lead a global org of 90+ engineers across the UK and India (scaling to 120+ in 2025).
The platform is already processing hundreds of thousands funding offers/month. 85% of all underwriting decisions are made by AI.
Gen-AI agents (built on Google Gemini) are live and unlocking new automation curves.
Your remit is to shift the org from replatforming to impactful delivery — tightening delivery loops, raising engineering quality, and building platform leverage.
You’ll lead teams deploying generative agents, ML-powered decisioning, and predictive pricing engines in production — at scale. The platform ingests 100M+ data points/month and is built for extensibility across products and geos.
What you’ll do
Lead and scale a high-performing engineering team across time zones
Own the platform architecture and evolve it for speed, modularity, and AI- capabilities
Act as the technical counterbalance to a CPTO — driving clarity, performance, and principled trade-offs
Raise the hiring bar — immediately adding 15–20 engineers for Q1 product launches
Ensure engineering excellence and velocity become Liberis’ product advantage

You
You’ve scaled high-growth B2B or fintech platforms. You know what great engineering orgs look like — and how to build them.
You lead 50–100+ engineers, but still have the technical range to challenge Staff+ Engineers on architecture.
You’re fluent in distributed systems, real-time data pipelines, and modern CI/CD. You care about clean abstractions, performance, and craft.
You’ve built in high-velocity, product-led environments — not command/control bureaucracies.
You’ve managed distributed teams across India and the UK and know how to maintain culture, autonomy, and speed.
