Duty & Assessment Team | Oldham Council | £39 Per Hour (Umbrella)

About the role

You’ll work across referrals, safeguarding decision-making and single assessments, moving cases on quickly and safely. Oldham’s approach is underpinned by Signs of Safety and a clear partnership focus on integrated working with early help and multi-agency colleagues, so you’re not operating in a silo.

Key Responsibilities

• Progress contacts into timely, proportionate single assessments and next-step planning
• Lead strategy discussions and complete S47 enquiries where threshold is met
• Implement and review CIN plans and coordinate multi-agency input
• Escalate appropriately to ICPC / PLO / court when required (PLO/court experience helpful; support is available for those developing this)
• Use multi-agency information to inform risk analysis and decision-making through MASH/Duty pathways
• Produce clear, evidence-based recording that stands up to management oversight

Requirements

• Social Work England registration
• Recent statutory children’s D&A / assessment experience
• Strong threshold decision-making and confidence with S17 / S47 pathways
• Confident written work and case recording
• A supportive agency who are always available for you
