Competition / Antitrust Associate (Mid–Senior Level)

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

An opportunity has arisen for a talented mid–senior level Competition / Antitrust Associate to join a highly regarded Commercial & Regulatory team at a leading UK law firm on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This role offers exposure to a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious competition matters, working closely with partners and senior stakeholders across a diverse client base including corporates, public sector bodies, and fast-growth businesses.

You will play a key role in advising on:

• UK and EU competition law compliance
• Merger control and transaction-related competition support
• Competition aspects of commercial agreements (including distribution, agency, and vertical arrangements)
• Competition investigations and dawn raid response
• CMA and sector regulator investigations
• Competition litigation and follow-on damages claims
• State aid/subsidy control advice
• Competition compliance programmes and training

You will have the opportunity to take ownership of matters, supervise junior lawyers where appropriate, and work directly with clients on strategic, high-value issues.

About You

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent)
• Ideally 4+ years’ PQE with solid competition/antitrust experience
• Experience gained at a recognised UK or international firm
• Strong technical grounding in UK competition law (EU experience advantageous)
• Experience of CMA engagement and merger control processes preferred
• Commercially minded with strong drafting and analytical skills
• Comfortable managing matters with appropriate supervision
