Contracts Manager - Wastewater Infrastructure\n\nLocation: Falmer or Chatham (South East)\n Department: Operations (SWDPP)\n Salary: Competitive\n Contract: Full‑time, Permanent\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to lead, plan and deliver wastewater infrastructure programmes across the South East. This is a key operational role responsible for managing multiple projects from conception to completion-ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.\n\nYou will work closely with clients, designers, engineers, and the wider supply chain to specify robust deliverables, drive programme excellence, and expand workstreams through strong client confidence and commercial acumen.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDevelop detailed project plans including scope, schedule, and budget, aligned with client and our organisational objectives.\nIdentify, win, and deliver new workstreams; collaborate with the commercial team to develop competitive and profitable proposals.\nAllocate and manage resources including labour, subcontractors, materials, and equipment.\nMonitor, control, and report project costs to ensure financial targets are met.\nPresent monthly commercial performance updates to senior management.\nManage project programmes and ensure timely completion of milestones and deliverables.\nIdentify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.\nMaintain strong communication with clients, providing regular progress updates and resolving issues promptly.\nLead and coordinate project teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution.\nEnsure compliance with quality standards, regulations, and specifications.\nPromote a strong safety culture and enforce all H&S procedures.\nMaintain accurate project documentation including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.\nDrive continuous improvement and implement best‑practice project delivery.\n\nStandard Responsibilities\n\nAdopt and comply with our values, policies and regulatory frameworks, including:\n\nCode of Conduct\nHealth & Safety\nData protection, privacy, and IT usage\nRegulatory standards and probity\nRisk and internal control frameworks\nHR policies and procedures\nEquality and diversityYou may be required to undertake additional duties consistent with the role.\n Some travel and occasional out‑of‑hours work may also be required
