Job Description
Job purpose: \n\n Contribute to and integrate with the Company’s objectives and other team members to ensure compliance with current standards and practices within the electrical industry. \n\n This will involve the ability to independently manage a Brighton and Hove Corporate contract, while overseeing installation works as carried out by the engineers and apprentices within this contract.\n\nSalary & Package \n\nSalary - £55k\n45 hours a week\nVan (Diesel Or Electric) * Fuel Card\n21 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays\nPension\nHealthcare (opt in)\nPhone\n \nKey responsibilities and accountabilities:\n\nAt Least 5 years’ experience as a contracts manager\nNICIEC QS Experience a requirement\nProject / Client Management\n\nManagement of day-to-day running of a local Brighton contract. This will include reactive, maintenance and remedial works.\nHaving experience in electrical installation work between £50-£100k will be beneficial.\nLead contact for the running of projects and other associated works i.e.
commercial clients, local authority, and new business opportunities.\nPreparing financial budgets and quotations for the Client.\nDevelop and plan work schedules to the client’s satisfaction.\nAttend meetings and prepare reports for client meetings.\nUpdate records using the company’s works IT management system.\nProvide effective communication to clients and to actively seek and develop future opportunities.\nLine Management and Supervision of Staff\n\nManagement of engineers / lead engineer site supervisors.\nProvide mentoring, assistance, and create a supportive environment in relation to your team of engineers.\nSupervision of engineers and sub-contractors assigned to works in your area of responsibility.\nConducting team meetings and demonstrating toolbox talks when required.\nUndertaking annual Staff Appraisals and implementing actions thereof.\nDirect line management to the engineers assigned to your team.\nCompliance / Technical\n\nEnsure compliance to the policies and procedures, assessments, statements, plans, conditions, and codes, as administered by the Directors.\nProvide Technical support to engineers / clients and other teams members as required.\nResponsibility of ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, when planning and undertaking works.\nTo meet the requirements of NICEIC QS status for the company and conduct associated duties. After successful completion of QS assessment. (Not required at start of role).\nFull understanding of drawings, diagrams, and specifications to interpret, develop and adapt to a project during the course of its execution to achieve completion.\nHealth and Safety, Quality & Environmental\n\nEnsure compliance with all company regulatory H&S, quality processes, and environmental policies and procedures.\nCompetent in demonstrating the appropriate use of PPE so that it is deployed and used correctly, ensuring compliance to regulations, and ensuring workers are competent in its use.\nUndertake development and implementation of Health & Safety RAMS.\nConduct regular site visits and carry out H&S and quality audit reporting.\nConduct quarterly compliance checks for assigned team members.\nComplete Non-Conformance investigation reports when required.\nDevelop alongside the Quality Assurance Team the tool box talk and CPD training material required to provide H&S training and compliance.\nFinancial Responsibilities\n\nOrder goods and services relevant to the works delegated to the section.\nApprove decisions, requests, expenditure, and recommendations associated with assigned contracts/works, and in agreement with your line management structure.\nProduce schedules, negotiate costs and timescales, agree best methods and practices to meet budgetary constraints, ensuring quality and time expectations are adhered to.\nSubmit applications and invoices in a timely manner, in accordance with Client instructions and with a high regard for accuracy.\nConduct Job costings, quarterly WIP figures, and other financial analysis of works assigned in accordance with financial processes and timescales.\nGeneral\n\nThe post holder will be required to demonstrate a proactive and positive mindset with a “hands on” approach; this may involve working on site from time to time.\nCarry out and adapt to Business needs as they evolve and at the request of the Senior Management and Directors, as and when needed.\n\nPLEASE CONTACT SEAN HITCHMAN ON (phone number removed) / (url removed)
