Our client, a leading water sector specialist, is seeking Electrical Engineers to work out of their London Paddington office.

This role is primarily supporting Southern Water projects and will be office-based with site visits required. The position is well suited to candidates with a strong foundation in electrical design, alongside an understanding of project delivery.

Whilst water sector experience is heavily preferred, candidates from relevant industries with transferable experience will also be considered.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a mid-level Electrical Engineer with circa 4–6 years’ experience who is looking to take the next step in their career, with clear progression opportunities. Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a confident and capable Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in the design and specification of electrical systems, particularly within instrumentation, process environments, and system integration.

You will be comfortable taking ownership of design work, from initial concept through to detailed design and implementation, working both independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team. A proactive approach to problem-solving and design optimisation is essential.

In addition to strong technical design capability, you will be motivated to further develop your leadership skills, with the confidence to contribute to client discussions and represent the company professionally.

You will be willing to undertake site visits as required by the stage of the project, overcoming any design issues with innovative solutions.

Key Role & Responsibilities

The Electrical Engineer will play a key role within the project design team, supporting schemes across the water and wastewater sector. Responsibilities will include:

• Contributing to projects across all stages, including Tender, Concept & Detailed Design, Build & Operate, Plant Upgrades, Maintenance, Commissioning, and Handover.
• Producing high-quality electrical design deliverables, including calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Leading and contributing to technical discussions with clients, clearly outlining design considerations, risks, and proposed solutions.
• Translating complex technical information into clear and accessible outputs for multidisciplinary teams.
• Developing detailed design packages for electrical installers, system integrators, and panel manufacturers.
• Reviewing and managing subcontractor design submissions to ensure compliance, quality, and alignment with project requirements.
• Supporting project delivery to ensure designs are implemented effectively, on time, and within budget.
• Providing guidance and support to junior engineers and graduates.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:

• A relevant degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or a closely related discipline).
• Experience within the water/wastewater sector, or transferable experience from a similar process-driven or industrial environment.
• Approximately 4–6 years’ experience in an electrical engineering role, with a strong emphasis on design.
• Demonstrable experience producing electrical design documentation and working through full design lifecycles.
• A solid understanding of onsite health and safety regulations and best practice.
• A full UK driving licence, with willingness to attend site visits as required.
