Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Electrician to work across a range of commercial properties throughout Bristol. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in environments such as offices, retail units, schools, and industrial facilities. This is a mobile role requiring travel between sites.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in commercial buildings
- Carry out electrical testing, inspection, and fault-finding
- Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations (e.g., BS 7671 Wiring Regulations)
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Install lighting systems, power distribution units, fire alarms, and data cabling
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks
- Diagnose electrical faults and implement effective solutions
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Liaise with site managers, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery
- Adhere to all health & safety regulations and company policies
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
- Proven experience working as an electrician in commercial environments
- ECS/CSCS card (preferred or required depending on employer)
- Strong knowledge xbpsjku of electrical systems, tools, and safety procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and plans
- Full UK driving licence (essential due to travel between sites)
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Flexibility to work across multiple locations and adapt to different environments
