Geotechnical Estimator - Pre-Construction & Change Location: Ipswich, Suffolk A leading specialist geotechnical contractor operating across major UK infrastructure projects is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Estimator to join their Commercial team based in Ipswich. This role will sit within the Projects division and will focus on pre-construction estimating and change management for complex geotechnical packages. The successful candidate will work closely with project, technical, and operational teams to develop target prices, manage commercial risk, and support the successful delivery and growth of the business. Geotechnical Estimator - Salary & Benefits Competitive Salary Subsistence avaiable where applicable) Company Car or Car Allowance Pension: 5-10% employer contribution (salary sacrifice scheme) Bonus: Up to 10% discretionary annual bonus (performance based) Holiday: 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays, increasing with service an option to purchase additional annual leave Private Medical Insurance, Life Assurance & Income Protection Paid annual professional memberships Geotechnical Estimator - Position Overview Manage incoming enquiries and assess tender and change opportunities Develop bid and win strategies aligned with client and project requirements Prepare detailed cost estimates, pricing schedules, and value engineering proposals Collaborate with technical, engineering, and construction teams to develop cost-effective solutions Identify and mitigate commercial and technical risk during pre-construction and change Prepare and present tender submissions and support negotiations through to contract award Maintain accurate records within CRM systems and support business development activity Support the business in securing future geotechnical and heavy civil engineering projects Development of target prices for major geotechnical packages NEC4 contract exposure within large infrastructure frameworks Change Management Geotechnical Estimator - Position Requirements HNC/HND Level 4+ qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or equivalent Minimum 2 years' estimating experience within geotechnical or heavy civil engineering Strong understanding of UK geotechnical construction techniques Excellent mathematical ability and strong commercial awareness Advanced Excel skills - essential Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Candy Good understanding of subcontractor packages and procurement strategy Experience working under NEC4 contracts Full UK Driving Licence Experience working within joint venture or alliance environments Bennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.
