Head of Benefits & Wellbeing

Nottingham - on-site

£70,000-£75,000 + up to 20% bonus + £6,500 car allowance

We are partnering with a large organisation to appoint a Head of Benefits & Wellbeing into a newly created role as part of a wider Reward transformation.

This is a senior, business-critical hire and a rare opportunity to step into a role with genuine scope to shape strategy, influence at the top table and leave a lasting legacy.

Why this role exists

The organisation employs a large, diverse workforce across multiple sites, distribution and corporate functions. While a benefits and wellbeing offering is already in place, the business recognises that it is not fully embedded, clearly articulated or consistently valued across the organisation.

Rather than simply adding cost, they are looking for a senior benefits leader who can:

  • Create a clear, compelling benefits, recognition & wellbeing strategy
  • Reposition and re-engage the business with what already exists
  • Evolve the proposition in a commercially realistic way
  • Take stakeholders and teams on the journey

The role

Reporting into the Reward Director, you will sit at Head of level, owning Benefits, Recognition & Wellbeing for a large, complex matrix environment.

You will:

  • Lead the end-to-end Benefits, Recognition & Wellbeing strategy
  • Manage and develop a team of circa 5
  • Partner closely with senior HR and business leaders
  • Build credibility and momentum around the benefits agenda
  • Ensure benefits are understood, valued and positioned effectively

Compensation sits separately, allowing this role to focus fully on benefits, wellbeing and recognition.

The business does not operate with a "gold-plated" benefits model and is realistic about financial constraints. Success in this role will come from:

  • Smart design rather than blanket spend
  • Creativity and innovation in wellbeingStrong communication and storytelling
  • Demonstrating value, not just cost

This is not about wholesale replacement of benefits. It is about reinventing, modernising and re-engaging the organisation with what they already offer.

What we’re looking for

This is a true Head of role, suited to someone who can operate comfortably at both strategic and delivery level.

You are likely to have:

  • Senior benefits leadership experience in a large, complex organisation
  • A track record of creating strategy and seeing it through to launch
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Experience working within commercial constraints
  • The credibility to lead conversations at senior level

Candidates from benefits consultancies or large corporates are very welcome, provided they bring strategic design and hands‑on delivery experience.
