Job Description
HVAC Service Engineer\n\nLocation: Manchester (field-based across the North West)\n Salary: £38,000 - £48,000 DOE\n Benefits: Company van, fuel card, overtime, call-out, pension, 25 days holiday + bank holidays\n Contract: Permanent, Full-Time\n\nA leading building services and facilities management contractor is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Engineer to support a portfolio of commercial and industrial clients across Manchester and the wider North West region.\n\nThis is a stable, long-term opportunity offering structured training, manufacturer support, and clear progression for engineers looking to develop technically and professionally.\n\nRole Responsibilities\n\nPlanned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repair works on HVAC systems\n\nFault diagnosis on electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration components\n\nServicing and maintenance of:\n\nSplit & multi-split air conditioning systems\n\nVRV / VRF systems\n\nAHUs, FCUs, and ventilation systems\n\nHeat pumps and chillers (experience-dependent)\n\nCarrying out pressure testing, leak detection, evacuation, and re-gassing\n\nCompleting service reports, F-Gas logs, and compliance documentation\n\nLiaising with clients, site contacts, and helpdesk teams\n\nEnsuring all works are carried out in line with:\n\nF-Gas regulations\n\nHealth & Safety legislation\n\nCompany and site procedures\n\nParticipation in an on-call rota (typically 1 in 6 / 1 in 8)\n\nCandidate Profile\n\nEssential:\n\nMinimum 3+ years' experience as an HVAC / AC Service Engineer\n\nF-Gas Category 1\n\nStrong fault-finding capability on HVAC systems\n\nGood working knowledge of electrical and mechanical components\n\nFull UK driving licence\n\nComfortable working independently in a field-based role\n\nDesirable:\n\nNVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning\n\nExperience with chillers, heat pumps, or commercial ventilation\n\n18th Edition (BS7671)\n\nIPAF / PASMA\n\nPrevious experience within facilities management or building services\n\nInterested?\nIf you believe you have the skills and experience to excel in this role, apply today.\n\nAlecto Recruitment Limited is acting as an employment business for this vacancy.
