Interim Financial Controller | Very Hybrid/Quasi Remote | North Manchester Offices | 6 month FTCAn SME charity is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to support the organisation during a key period of financial oversight, reporting and planning.This is a hands-on senior finance role, ideal for an interim who can quickly take ownership of financial control, statutory reporting and team leadership within a charity environment.The RoleReporting to the senior leadership team, you will have full responsibility for the finance function across both the charity and its trading subsidiary.Key responsibilities include:Production of monthly management accounts and Statutory Annual Accounts in line with Charity SORP (FRS102) and trading entity requirementsLeading the year-end process and liaising with external auditorsPreparation of annual budgets and forecasts, including scenario planning around membership levels and staffingWorking closely with budget holders to support forecasting and budget settingFull responsibility for cashflow management across charity and trading bank accountsManagement of service level agreements relating to debt management and accounts payableSubmission of HMRC VAT returns and related sector-specific returnsLeadership, development and motivation of a finance team of three, including appraisals and personal development plansEnsuring accurate and timely processing of creditor and debtor invoicesMaintenance of the Fixed Asset RegisterAbout YouYou will be a confident interim who is comfortable operating in a small-to-medium charity environment.You will bring:Full accountancy qualification (CCAB or equivalent)Strong experience within the charity or not-for-profit sectorIn-depth knowledge of Charity SORP (FRS102)Proven experience producing statutory accounts and managing auditsSolid VAT experienceStrong people management and team leadership skillsA hands-on, pragmatic approach with the ability to deliver to deadlinesExcellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with non-finance stakeholdersJBRP1_UKTJ
