We are a globally recognised technology business designing and manufacturing advanced thermal imaging, night vision and augmented reality systems used in demanding defence, security and industrial environments. With in house R&D and a strong reputation for engineering excellence, we are now building a brand new Production Engineering function within R&D.
This is a rare opportunity to shape and lead that function from the ground up.
The Role - Production Engineering Manager - Cambridge
You will lead the transition of complex electromechanical products from development into scalable, repeatable and quality driven manufacture. Acting as the bridge between R&D and Production, you will define the standards, processes and tools required to deliver robust New Product Introduction and long term manufacturing success.
You will build and develop a multidisciplinary team across electronics, mechanical and software production engineering, ensuring products are production ready, compliant and cost effective.
Key Focus Areas - Production Engineering Manager - Cambridge
• Establish and lead the Production Engineering function
• Own structured NPI and transfer to manufacturing
• Embed DFM, DFA and DFT principles early in development
• Oversee production test, automation, tooling and calibration processes
• Drive yield improvement, cost reduction and operational efficiency
• Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement
• Ensure robust documentation, configuration control and ISO9001 compliance
• Act as the senior interface across R&D, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations
About You - Production Engineering Manager - Cambridge
• Degree qualified in Engineering or equivalent experience
• Strong background in production or manufacturing engineering within a technology environment
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Deep understanding of electronics manufacturing, mechanical processes and production test systems
• Experience taking products from prototype through to volume manufacture
• Confident driving standards, performance and accountability

£60,000 - £80,000 /annum
