Job Description

Astute's Nuclear Team is partnering with a UK contractor and solutions provider who work mainly in commercial and industrial construction to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for the Portsmouth Dockyard.\n\nThe Quantity Surveyor role comes with a salary between £48,000 and £60,000 and the opportunity to work on an exciting naval project.\n\nIf you're a Quantity Surveyor and are looking to work for an organisation that puts integrity and people at the forefront of everything it does then submit your CV to apply today.\n\nResponsibilities and duties of the Quantity Surveyor role\n\nReporting to the Project Manager you will:\n\nPrepare and manage project budgets and cost plans.\nMonitor cost performance and forecast final outturn costs.\nProduce monthly valuations and commercial reports.\nManage subcontractor applications, valuations, and payments.\nLead negotiations on variations and change events.\nPrepare and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors\nPrepare pricing for new contracts and tender submissions.\nSupport ongoing tendering activity across the dockyard portfolio.\nCarry out light-touch estimating and cost build-ups.\nAssess subcontractor quotations and prepare comparative analyses.\nContribute to bid strategy from a commercial standpoint.\n\nProfessional qualifications\n\nWe are looking for someone with the following:\n\n5+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor\nExperience on large scale construction projects\nExperience leading projects commercially from procurement through to final account.\nStrong background working with bespoke contracts aligned to industry standard forms.\nDemonstrable experience managing subcontractor packages and commercial negotiations.\nAbility to be site based minimum 4 times a week \n\nSalary and benefits of the Quantity Surveyor role\n\n£48,000 - £60,000\n25 days annual leave + bank holidays\nDeath in service benefits\nCycle to work scheme\n24/7 GP Access \n\n#LI-CM1\n\nINDNUC\n\nAstute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
