Quantity Surveyor – Permanent\nPortsmouth\nFull-Time, Permanent\nCompetitive Salary + Benefits\n\nA leading commercial and industrial contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Portsmouth office. This is a permanent role offering the chance to work on a mix of commercial, industrial, and refurbishment projects across the South East.\n\nRole Overview\n\nYou will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from pre-contract to final account, ensuring cost control, timely valuations, and robust contract administration. Working closely with project teams, you’ll play a key role in delivering profitable and high-quality projects while supporting the growth of the Portsmouth office.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Manage project budgets, valuations, and cashflow\n\n * \n\n Prepare and issue subcontractor enquiries and tender documentation\n\n * \n\n Monitor work-in-progress, interim applications, and final accounts\n\n * \n\n Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities\n\n * \n\n Support procurement and negotiation with subcontractors\n\n * \n\n Maintain accurate cost reports and commercial records\n\n * \n\n Assist in contract interpretation, claims, and variations\n\nSkills & Experience\n\n * \n\n Experience as a Quantity Surveyor on construction, fit-out, refurbishment, or industrial projects\n\n * \n\n Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 and/or JCT contracts\n\n * \n\n Strong commercial awareness and numeracy\n\n * \n\n Excellent negotiation, communication, and organisational skills\n\n * \n\n Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines\n\n * \n\n Relevant qualification (RICS/AssocRICS, HNC/HND in QS, or built environment degree)\n\n * \n\n Full UK driving licence\n\nWhy This Role?\n\n * \n\n Permanent role with a respected, growing contractor\n\n * \n\n Exposure to a range of commercial, industrial, and refurbishment projects in Portsmouth and the South East\n\n * \n\n Competitive salary and benefits package\n\n * \n\n Supportive and collaborative commercial team\n\n * \n\n Clear progression and development opportunities\n\nIf you’re a proactive Quantity Surveyor looking to join a dynamic team in Portsmouth and take responsibility for exciting projects, this is an excellent opportunity.
