This is not a comfortable number-two role.


This is for someone who wants earn a stack of notes, save for a mortgage in the home counties and level up their grocery exposure.


Our client is an SME who supply private label food for major UK grocers. They are commercially ambitious, operationally demanding and crystal on performance expectations.


The environment is challenging. Pace is high. Margins are tight. Retailers push hard.


Management push harder.


They may occasionally bring the flame to the sales floor.


You may occasionally feel like you're living in a scene from Boiler Room.


You may occasionally dislike your past choices.


But, it could be worse - you could be a recruitment consultant in 2026, or even worse: an estate agent for large and leafy houses in Sussex (cheers Rach)...


I digress.


Anyway, health warnings out of the way.
