Our team is building a dynamic network to meet the changing demands for electricity and increasingly, renewable electricity – safely, securely and sustainably in the communities we serve.At SP Energy Networks, we know people are central to building a better future, quicker and we are seeking new talent to join our team.**What you’ll be doing**You will lead the planning, delivery, and governance of complex, high-value capital programmes, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, and within budget. The role provides strategic leadership across multiple projects, driving efficiency, value for money, and continuous improvement while managing stakeholders, suppliers, and multi-disciplinary teams to meet business and regulatory objectives.* Coordinate and plan regulatory funding requirements and supporting documentation with SGO managers and key business stakeholders.* Lead workstreams for the production of tender packs and support the installation and commissioning of new projects.* Liaise with external suppliers and contractors to ensure programme milestones and delivery schedules are met.* Provide commercial and contractual support, including the effective resolution of contractor claims.* Identify, assess, and manage programme risks, issues, and impacts.* Drive innovation to reduce programme CAPEX and OPEX.* Deliver efficiency savings of up to £5m per annum across approximately 10 capital projects.* Manage competing priorities while ensuring budgets, programmes, and delivery commitments are achieved.* Ensure full regulatory, environmental, health and safety, and governance compliance across all projects.* Lead and oversee the delivery of multiple high-value projects within a complex programme environment.* Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers to ensure consistent delivery standards.* Take full accountability for programme budgets of up to £10m, including forecasting, cost control, and reporting.* Support bid development, contract negotiation, and change control activities.* Develop integrated delivery plans and optimise resource allocation across internal teams, contractors, and suppliers.**What you’ll bring*** Proven experience leading capital projects in a complex engineering or infrastructure environment.* Strong leadership capability with experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams.* Highly driven and decisive, with a clear focus on delivery and performance.* Ability to manage complexity, make sound decisions, and deliver under pressure.* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.* Resilience and adaptability, with the ability to lead through change in a dynamic environment.**As a minimum, you will demonstrate*** A degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.* Significant experience delivering large-scale engineering capital projects.* Experience within security, utilities, or heavy engineering sectors.* Proven contract negotiation and contract management experience.* A sound understanding of health and safety principles within large-scale project delivery.* Eligibility to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance and role-specific authorisations (e.g. substation access).**What’s in it for you**As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
