Interim Head of Finance (FD Level) | PE-Backed Data & SaaS Platform

Location: London (hybrid)

Day Rate: Competitive (likely outside IR35)

Duration: 3–6 months initially with scope for extension

Start: ASAP, 2 weeks notice max


An opportunity to step into a high-growth, private equity-backed data and technology platform at a pivotal stage in its development.


The business has scaled rapidly through acquisition and now requires an experienced finance leader to bring structure, credibility and forward visibility to the finance function. This is a hands-on leadership role, working directly with the CEO and investors to stabilise and build a function capable of supporting continued growth.


The Role

You will act as the most senior finance professional in the business, taking ownership of both strategic and operational finance during a period of change.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading board reporting and delivering investor-grade financial insight
  • Owning the relationship with private equity stakeholders
  • Managing debt facilities, covenants and cash flow visibility
  • Supporting ongoing M&A activity, including financial diligence and integration
  • Assessing the current finance team and driving improvements in capability and structure
  • Implementing robust processes, controls and reporting frameworks across multiple entities
  • Establishing a scalable finance function aligned to the next phase of growth


About You

  • Proven experience operating at FD/CFO level within a PE-backed environment
  • Strong understanding of leveraged structures, debt and lender relationships
  • Track record of stepping into underdeveloped or transitioning finance functions
  • Able to balance strategic oversight with hands-on delivery
  • Experience in SaaS, data or technology-led businesses preferred
  • Credible operator with the ability to challenge, influence and build trust at CEO and investor level
