Reporting to: Group FP&A Director

Functions Supported: C-Suite, Human Resources (HR), IT/Technology, Marketing, and Finance.

Interim role for a minimum of 6 months

This is a high-visibility, commercially focused role that moves beyond pure financial reporting. You will be the trusted financial advisor to our Corporate Function leaders, providing the insight and control necessary to ensure efficiency, scalable, and fully aligned with the Private Equity investment thesis and high-growth strategy. You will be instrumental in designing the financial architecture that enables our operational functions to keep pace with the business's rapid expansion.

Detailed Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership & Decision Support

  • Business Partnering: Act as the primary finance liaison for the leadership teams of HR, IT, Marketing, Finance and C-Suite, translating strategic goals into financial plans and metrics.
  • Investment Evaluation: Own the financial modelling and preparation of business cases for all material Corporate Function investments (e.g., new HR systems, global IT infrastructure projects, major marketing campaigns). Challenge assumptions and ensure ROI is clearly quantified and tracked.
  • Executive Insight: Prepare, present, and communicate clear, concise financial reports to Functional Heads and the Executive team, focusing on performance, cost drivers, and key value-for-money metrics.

Planning, Budgeting, and Performance Management

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for all assigned Corporate Functions. Drive a "zero-based" or bottom-up budgeting approach to ensure spending is justified and aligned with growth targets.
  • Cost Control & Efficiency: Deliver deep variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget/Forecast) with insightful commentary. Proactively identify and challenge non-essential expenditure, driving continuous cost optimisation and process efficiency across G&A functions.
  • KPI Development: Design, monitor, and report on G&A-specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as:
  • HR: Headcount, Utilisation Rates, Cost per Hire.
  • IT: IT Spend as a % of Revenue, Licence optimisation.
  • Marketing: Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Marketing ROI.

Process Design & Financial Discipline

  • System & Process Enhancement: Actively participate in projects to design and implement new financial processes and systems related to Corporate Functions (e.g., procurement approval workflows, expense management policy/system).
  • Control Environment: Embed strong financial governance and controls within the Corporate Functions, ensuring compliance with Group policies and regulatory requirements in a high-change, post-acquisition environment.
  • Financial Integrity: Ensure accurate and timely monthly close reporting for the G&A cost base, including appropriate accruals, prepayments, and capital expenditure tracking.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant: Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) with a strong technical foundation.
  • Post-Qualification Experience: A minimum of 3 years of Post-Qualified Experience (PQE), ideally with at least 2 years in a dedicated Finance Business Partnering role.

Essential Experience

  • PE/Investment-Backed Exposure: Direct experience working within a demanding, fast-growth Private Equity (PE) or Venture Capital-backed organisation, where the ability to scale processes and deliver high-quality, time-critical reporting is paramount.
  • High-Change Environment: Proven ability to operate effectively and design structure/controls in an environment characterised by rapid growth, system changes, or post-merger integration.
  • Corporate Functions FBP: Demonstrable experience in Finance Business Partnering for G&A/Support Functions (HR, IT, Marketing, etc.), with a deep understanding of their unique cost drivers and value levers.
  • Systems and Process Acumen: Experience in designing, documenting, and implementing new financial structures and processes to support a rapidly growing or international business. Must be highly systems-literate, with advanced Excel/modelling skills.

Key Competencies

  • Commercial Acumen: Ability to move beyond the numbers to challenge business decisions and influence non-finance leaders to achieve financial outcomes.
  • Communication & Influence: Exceptional stakeholder management skills; capable of communicating complex financial concepts clearly and persuasively to C-suite and non-finance professionals.
  • Proactive & Hands-on: A self-starter who takes ownership and is comfortable diving into detail while keeping a strategic, forward-looking perspective.
