The Role

Sitting within HINV Business Finance, this Finance Business Partner role plays a key part in supporting the business following the SVB integration and through ongoing change activity. The role focuses on commercial analysis, financial modelling and decision support, helping the business understand performance, assess initiatives and embed change into BAU.

You will work closely with stakeholders across HINV, providing insight into monthly performance, forecasting, and variances against strategic objectives. The role also supports investment cases, new product initiatives, cost model changes and migration‑related finance issues, acting as a trusted finance partner and translating financial information clearly for non‑finance audiences.


Key Responsibilities

  • Financial modelling and impact analysis for proposed strategic initiatives
  • Supporting the Change the Bank (CTB) investment process and integration with planning
  • Commercial analysis for new product initiatives
  • Supporting implementation and embedding of cost function changes
  • Assisting with migration‑related finance issue remediation
  • Supporting monthly performance analysis, forecasting and P&L insights
  • Providing ad‑hoc financial analysis to support decision‑making and business performance


Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Understanding of HSBC systems and processes advantageous


Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong track record in financial and management reporting
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and scenario analysis
  • Experience working with banking or financial services P&Ls and balance sheets
  • Ability to interpret commercial drivers and identify risks and opportunities
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with experience producing executive‑level outputs
  • Strong understanding of controls and robust financial processes
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non‑finance stakeholders
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across the business
